Seemanchal Express accident, Seemanchal Express train accident: At least six passengers died and 29 others were injured when a rail fracture caused 11 bogies of the Delhi-bound Seemanchal Express (Jogbani-Anand Vihar Seemanchal Express 12487) to jump the tracks in Bihars Vaishali district on Sunday morning. The accident took place around 4 am near Sahadai Buzurg, 57 km from Patna. According to Chief Public Relations Officer, East Central Zone, Rajesh Kumar, 11 coaches jumped off the track at around 4 am. Sahadai Buzurg, the accident site close to Mahanar Road in the Sonepur division. One general coach, one AC coach B3, three sleeper coaches -S8, S9, S10 and four more coaches have derailed. The injured were rushed to a hospital here, where the doctors referred the seriously wounded to Muzaffarpur and Patna. Meanwhile, Minister for Railways Coal, Piyush Goyal, has announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased, Rs 1 lakh to grievously injured and Rs 50,000 to persons who sustained simple injuries. The Bihar government has announced Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for injured persons.
